Should You Apply Sunscreen Before or After Makeup?

Having a good skincare routine is very important for keeping your skin healthy. You will want to apply your sunscreen after your skincare routine, but before you put on any makeup like foundation or highlight. For example, I use a cleanser, a couple of serums, and a moisturizer in the morning. I let my skin absorb all of that for about 10 to 15 minutes before I apply my sunscreen. After the sunscreen has had time to sit on my skin, I’ll apply the rest of my makeup for the day. 

What Sunscreen Should You Use?

There are a lot of great brands of sunscreen out there. The key is to make sure that whatever sunscreen you choose is broad spectrum and has an SPF of at least 30. My favorite sunscreen to use with my Seint Makeup is SuperGoop. I am especially a fan of the Unseen Sunscreen and the Glow Screen. I love this sunscreen because it works well with my Seint IIID foundation while also protecting my skin from the sun’s harmful rays. They can also double as a primer for your makeup. The Unseen Sunscreen is very lightweight and goes on your skin clear. The Glow Sunscreen has a little bit of a tint to it and adds some super light coverage to your face. 

If you are looking for a makeup product that doubles as sunscreen, I recommend the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream. This foundation has some subtle  illumination to it, which is always a plus in my book. It also contains some skincare components including an anti-aging, hydrating serum, and 50+ SPF broad spectrum. While it does say this product is full-coverage, I typically like to use other foundation products on top. But if you are looking to just even out your skin tone a little with some light coverage, this is a great stand alone product. 

How To Reapply Sunscreen After You Have Makeup On  

Some people don’t realize that you actually need to reapply sunscreen to your face throughout the day. Did you know sunscreen can break down from sweat, oils from your skin, and sun rays? The sunscreen you applied in the morning before you did your makeup won’t provide you continued protection after a couple of hours, so it is really important that you reapply sunscreen every two to three hours. But how do you reapply sunscreen without ruining your makeup?  Luckily SuperGoop has already thought of this problem and has a great solution. 

The first product I want to share for refreshing your sunscreen is the (Re)setting Refreshing Mist from SuperGoop. This acts as both a setting spray to keep your makeup in place all day and as a sunscreen that has SPF 40. With this product, all you have to do is spray this on your face a couple times throughout the day and you will have continued protection from the sun. 

If you aren’t a fan of setting sprays or have really oily skin, they also have a (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder with SPF 35 in it. This is great to carry with you and reapply to your skin throughout the day. Not only will it keep your skin protected, but it will also reduce any shine and help reset your makeup.

Now that you know a few of the great products out there that will help protect your skin, the important thing is to remember to use them. The initial sunscreen you apply will protect your skin for a couple hours but will eventually wear off. So be sure to grab one of the SPF (re)setting products as well! Why Seint is Long Lasting

Let’s first talk about how long Seint makeup lasts as far as needing to replace your products. Then we’ll tackle how long the makeup will last when you wear it. 

Seint makeup is a cream-based product. And if you are not familiar with creams, they are naturally more pigmented than both liquids and powders. Because creams are so highly pigmented, it does not require very much product to create the coverage you are looking for. Since you are using less product, the amount of cream foundation used will outlast an equal amount of liquid or powder foundation. This means you won’t have to replace your makeup nearly as frequently. Using a little bit of the pigmented creams goes a really long way! Thus, Seint’s individual makeup tins will last significantly longer than any of your traditional foundations! 

Seint IIID Foundation is also different from traditional foundations because it consists of 4 colors: Highlight, Contour, Lip+Cheek, and Illuminator. You apply each color to specific locations of the face. Naturally, this makes your product lasts longer. On average, your Seint main Highlight color will last anywhere from 3-4 months before it needs to be replaced. That’s longer than any other foundation I have used.

There are other, more expensive primers out there, but I have found that the Poreless Putty Primer works well with Seint’s IIID Foundation.

Another great option for getting your makeup to last longer is using Seint’s Setting Spray. While Seint makeup truly does have all the benefits of lasting as long as possible, using the Setting Spray takes your routine all the way to the finish line. It keeps your makeup in place and leaves you with a beautiful, dewy glow!

However, if your skin is on the oily side, or you just prefer a more matte finish, Seint has an amazing Setting Powder. Setting Powder is made with a super fine, pressed powder. It works perfectly with your cream-based makeup.

History of Seint Official

Cara Brook, a makeup artist, and beauty blogger founded Maskcara in 2013 with an innovative and fresh take on makeup. Her makeup line featured the groundbreaking IIID Foundation which was unlike anything else on the market. The purpose behind IIID Foundation was to change the way women view and apply their makeup. Makeup should be easy, not complicated while adding depth and dimension to a woman’s face. 

How Maskcara Beauty (rebranded as Seint Official) Started

Maskcara Beauty (now rebranded as Seint Official) started as an e-commerce business in 2013. Initially, Cara sold her products on her website with dreams of one day having her line carried in Sephora. As the demand for her makeup line grew, Cara started to explore the option of transitioning her e-commerce business into a direct sales company.

As Cara explored the options of taking her business the direct sales route, she was contacted by Sephora. Ultimately, Cara turned down the offer from Sephora to chase her new dream to not only provide women with a revolutionary kind of makeup, but to provide an opportunity for women to have a business of their own.

How to Choose Your Seint Makeup Colors Through Seint Collections

Seint recently released new shade collections which allow beauty lovers to find their own perfect match. What makes these collections special is that the collections come in a variety of sizes. You can choose between a collection that provides the bare essentials, a more advanced option that has critical extras to take your makeup experience to the next level, or the most advanced collection that has absolutely everything you need to get started.

Once you decide what collection you are interested in, it is time to choose your colors. Within each collection, there are 8 different skin tone levels to choose from. Seint has also created a “Find Your Shade” option. This helps customers find their shade without the help of an Artist. After selecting the “Find Your Shade” button, you will see a photo collection of real-life women that match each skin tone level. To figure out which color is best for your skin tone, all you have to do is find the photos that most closely resemble your own skin to determine which level you need.

How to Choose Your Seint Makeup Colors With a Color Match Quiz

If finding your own color match seems overwhelming, I’ve got another easy way for you to find your perfect Seint makeup shade:  my Seint Color Match Quiz. 

My Seint Color Match Quiz has been specially curated to help me determine your perfect shades, based on the answers you provide.

The first step in my color match quiz is to select the skin tone range you believe your skin falls under. After selecting your skin tone range, you will see different pictures of real-life examples within the skin shade you selected in the previous answer. Select the picture you believe most closely matches your skin tone. Once you’ve done that, you’’ be asked 2 more questions: one to determine your undertones and one to identify what skin issues you might have, if any. And that’s it! A simple 4 question quiz. And then after you’ve completed the quiz, I will email you customized results based on the answers you provided.

Using the color match quiz to choose your Seint makeup colors is a fantastic option. The questions I’ve included in the quiz help to narrow down the color options and really cater the colors to your skin tone. 

How to Choose Your Seint Makeup Colors With a Color Match Photo

There is one other way that you can choose your Seint makeup colors. And honestly, the best option because it will be the most accurate. Through this option,  I am able to help you in a more individualized way. And, I can help guarantee you have the perfect shades for your skin tone. 

In order to help you choose your Seint makeup colors with a color match photo, I will need two things: a picture of you without any makeup on (in natural lighting) and a picture of you with makeup on (in natural lighting). It is really important to take both photos in natural lighting. This helps me to see the real undertones of your skin. 

The best way to ensure you are taking your photo in natural lighting is to stand indoors facing a well-lit window with indirect sunlight. You will want to step about 3 feet away from the window so the sun isn’t directly touching your skin. Before taking the picture, remember to wipe off the phone’s camera lens so it is clean. If your phone is anything like mine, your camera might have a few fingerprints on it. Next, tap the center of the screen so your face is in focus and take the picture straight on. Be sure your neck is visible so that I can see your overall skin tone as well. It is also really helpful to wear a neutral-colored top. Try something that is black, white, or gray.

After that, all you have to do is submit your photos to me. After that I will email you your perfect color match within 24-48 hours!

The Answer to the Question

The answer is no. Seint makeup is not expensive. Most Seint Beauty products are only $16. When you think of the cost of one makeup product from the drugstore, $16 is not far off from the average drugstore brand.  But the quality is far superior. In fact, Sephora and Free People both wanted Seint on their shelves but were turned down by Seint’s CEO. She had better plans in mind for her company, including keeping her costs low for the consumers. 

To further answer the question, “Is Seint makeup expensive?”, let’s see how it compares to other brands.

Comparing Seint to Other Trending Makeup Brands

The number one staple for me when it comes to makeup is my Foundation. I am obsessed with Seint’s revolutionary IIID Foundation and everything it has to offer. I use a combination of 3 different Highlight shades which allow me to enhance my best features with customized colors for my exact skin tone. Each Highlight shade (aka IIID Foundation) is $16. How does that compare to other makeup brands? 

Outside of Seint, 3 trending Foundations are offered by NARS, Tarte, and MAC. NARS’s best-selling Light Reflecting Foundation is selling for $49, Tarte has a hydrating Water Foundation for $39, while MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid Foundation costs $36. Now, with Seint’s IIID Foundation, I always recommend using 3 shades of Foundation/Highlight to give your face dimension. Using 3 shades allows you to customize the colors to your actual skin tone, instead of applying a single shade all over and giving your face a flat appearance. If you are using Seint’s cream-based Highlight shade for your Foundation, the price for 3 shades is right around the same price as only one shade with other brands. Crazy, right? And because you are using 3 shades instead of 1, your makeup will last significantly longer.

I’d love to compare a few other makeup staples to show you that Seint Beauty really is affordable when compared to other leading brands. Aside from Foundation, you have got to have a good Contour in your makeup routine in order to perfectly sculpt your features. I use Contour daily with my IIID Foundation to add dimension to my face. Seint’s Contour is also competitively priced at $16. Other leading Contours range from $25-$90. A few of these name brands are Fenty Beauty by Rhianna ($28), Tom Ford ($89), Anastasia of Beverly Hills ($25), and Clinique ($26.50).

Another common makeup product that pairs well with Contour is Illuminator. For reference, Seint’s Illuminator is comparable to other brands’ Highlighters. Fenty Beauty has a really gorgeous Highlighter, called Match Stix Glow Skinstick that is priced at $28. Stila also has a comparable Highlighter, Heaven’s Hue Highlighter, that is listed at $34. Can you guess what Seint’s Illuminator is priced at? If you guessed $16, you are right!

Using One Product in Multiple Ways Helps You Save

I thought I would compare one last product from Seint to others on the market. First, I have got to share my love of Seint’s Lip+Cheeks. Not only are the colors stunning, but you can also use one product for multiple purposes. This is a big money saver! The creamy colors can be used not only on your lips and your cheeks but certain shades can even be passed off as an eyeshadow! That means you are getting 3 products for the price of 1! And like the other Seint makeup mentioned earlier, Seint’s Lip+Cheeks are also priced at $16. 

This price comparison may be a little more difficult because there are so many different lip products on the market. Between glosses, lip tints, lipsticks, and 24-hour lip color, lip color prices vary from $15-$35.  And trending blushes tend to range between $15-$35. But doesn’t that make Seint’s Lip+Cheek even more appealing? You don’t have to sort through so many styles to find which one you like. And because it can be used in multiple ways, you can have a perfectly cohesive look for a fraction of the cost! 

Seint Makeup is Affordable

After looking at a few trending products, what do you think? Is Seint makeup expensive? I think the answer is a pretty obvious no. Now, while there are many other products that I could do a side-by-side comparison with, I just wanted to give you a quick glimpse as to how Seint’s prices compare. And I think the results speak for themselves. 

I also have to mention that Seint is not only affordable, it is also convenient. Seint makeup is sold in individual makeup tins which easily fit into magnetic palettes. This means you aren’t wasting money on colors you don’t like because you are building your own collection and it all fits in one place.
