Summer is here, which means temperatures are rising! Whether we’re chasing our kids through the sprinklers or lounging by the pool, we all want to look and feel fresh and beautiful this summer. The last thing you need to worry about is how your makeup is holding up in the summer heat. Since Seint makeup is cream based, you might be concerned that it won’t hold up as well in the heat. But there’s no need to fear! Here are three tips to make your cream makeup last in the heat and humidity.
1. Use a Primer Before Applying Cream-Based Makeup
I highly recommend using a primer in the summertime. Primer preps your skin for makeup, giving the makeup something to hold on to. This means that if your skin gets sweaty, the primer will provide a barrier between your skin and the makeup. Especially focus on putting it under your eyes. This will help you avoid runny eye liner.
And speaking of eyes, primer is not just for your face! It’s also great to use on your eyelids before applying your eye makeup. It will help your eyeshadow stay put, and you’ll avoid creasing your eyeshadow.
If you use a primer, make sure that it is water-based and not silicone-based. A water-based primer will work much better with the cream makeup. If you are looking for a good, but inexpensive, water-based primer, I recommend this one. Or if you want a good primer that also happens to be an amazing SPF, grab this one.
2. Use BB Cream to Make Your Makeup Last in the Heat and Humidity
To avoid melting cream-based makeup in the summer, use BB cream. BB cream is a great way to use less product while still getting the coverage you want. BB cream is a 3-in-1 product that minimizes the amount of makeup you need to wear. You still need moisturizer in the summer, and you definitely need SPF. A BB cream provides both of these essential products in one cream, along with a light foundation color. I have a great tutorial HERE that will show you how to create your own BB cream using products you already own and love.
When you make your own BB cream, be sure to switch your moisturizer to a lighter, oil-free product during the summer. This will help your skin receive the benefits of a moisturizer without feeling greasy. This is my favorite moisturizer.
You should also wait to apply any additional makeup (like blush or contour) until the BB cream is fully absorbed into your skin. This will help you apply your cream-based makeup more smoothly and achieve better coverage.
3. Finish Your Makeup With Setting Powder
Setting powder is a translucent pressed powder that will help your makeup stay in place. While this is great to use anytime of the year, it is especially useful in the summertime. Apply setting powder after you’ve applied your full face of makeup. Simply press it on the top, and you’re good to go!
Seint makes a great Vanilla Dusting Powder. You can use this powder all over your face, or just apply it to the specific areas that you need it. This powder is also great to carry with you, so you can add a little more later in the day, if needed.
