If you are experiencing dry, itchy skin this winter, you are not alone. This is a common skin challenge that most people face during the winter months. And unfortunately, when your skin is dry, not only is it itchy and even painful, but it can also affect your makeup application, leaving it blotchy and uneven. Having a hydrated and clean canvas for applying your makeup is critical to achieving the best results. So to make sure that your skin and makeup don’t suffer this winter, here are my 4 tips to combat dry skin in winter!
#1 Develop a Good Skincare Routine
Developing a good skincare routine can be difficult. There are so many options and opinions, that it can get overwhelming to figure out what is best. This is why I like Seint’s skincare line. Seint’s skincare line keeps it simple with three easy steps: Cleanser, Toner, and Creme. Each step works together to clean, replenish, and hydrate your skin.
Seint’s skincare routine is a daily routine that’s easy to execute! Here’s how to start:
First, start with the Cleanser. Seint Cleanser is a lactic-acid-based cream wash that will not only thoroughly clean your skin, but will also help create smoother and more hydrated skin. Every night, spray your face with the cleanser and rub it around in circular motions. Then, simply rinse your face with lukewarm water and the help of your Seint microfiber face towels. And then repeat. A double cleanse, while often skipped by many, is important for getting the best possible results and keeping your skin as healthy as possible.
After your face is clean, it’s time to add the Toner. Seint’s Toner is formulated to help reduce the size of your pores and keep your skin looking smooth. Simply spray your face with toner and gently massage it into your face in circular motions.
Then once you’ve completed the cleansing and toning, it’s time for moisturizing with Seint’s Creme. Seint Creme is made with natural milk components that flood the skin with hydration. This creme is so easy to apply and can be applied anywhere that your skin feels dry. Use it on your face, neck, or even hands to ensure all of your skin stays nice and supple!
You can buy any of the Seint Skincare products separately, or you can purchase the entire set together (including 3 free microfiber towels) here.
#2 Apply Hydrating Serums to Combat Dry Skin
One of the best ways I hydrate my skin is with Pomifera serums. I honestly love all of them, and they all work great at giving my skin hydration and helping it retain moisture. When I use these hydrating serums in combination with Seint skincare, my skin always looks and feels so much better.
If you want to help your skin, I recommend adding any of the serums from Pomifera to your daily skincare routine. I especially love Pomifera’s Plump. While it’s designed with hydration in mind, it is packed full of great ingredients like collagen to help reduce fine lines and tone the skin! It’s a definitive must and makes such a difference.
You can get all the details here.
Plump is just one of the amazing serums I use daily. If you want to find out more about Pomifera’s serums, and how they can change the game for your skin, here are all the details in this blog post about dealing with dry weather in Fall.
#3 Use Cream-Based Makeup
After you develop the skincare routine that works best for you, it’s imperative that you don’t ruin it by using drying makeup products. So many makeup products can absorb and remove all the moisture from your face, leaving your skin dull and dry – the exact opposite of what we want.
To avoid this, try using cream-based makeup. Not only will cream makeup look amazing, but it will help retain the moisture in your skin. Seint’s IIID foundation is a great cream-based makeup that will aid in your winter skincare journey. Not only is it easy to apply, but it will keep your skin hydrated and prevent your skin from getting dried out.
Seint’s IIID foundation is made up of 4 colors: Highlight, Illuminator, Contour, and Lip+Cheek. That’s because everybody’s face is made up of more than one color. So not only does Seint’s IIID foundation keep your skin hydrated, it also helps make it look less dull and washed out by playing into your skin’s natural dimensions.
Seint’s IIID foundation can feel overwhelming at first, but it’s actually super easy. Most people can apply their makeup in about five minutes all from one palette. For a more in-depth review, read this blog post here or follow along with my step-by-step application video here.

#4 Hydrate, Moisturize, and Hydrate some more!
Whenever I post about hydrating your skin, I always like to remind people of the easiest and cheapest thing they can do: drink water. Yep, that’s right. Your body needs water to be supple and smooth, so make sure you’re replenishing it often.
Unfortunately, when it’s cold outside, we don’t feel the urge to drink as much water as we do in the summer. But our body still needs a lot of hydration. So, here’s your daily reminder to drink plenty of water and keep your body hydrated this winter!
And finally, make sure you use some sort of exfoliator 1-2 times a week. Every day you should be using Plump and Creme, but you can make your skin even more supple and fresh by using Seint’s Masque at least once a week.
It’s easy to use! All you have to do is add it once a week to your nightly skincare routine. After washing your face with your cleanser and patting it dry, liberally apply the masque and let it sit for 3-10 minutes. Then, thoroughly rinse your face and pat it dry again. Then, continue with toner and creme to complete your skincare routine.
Seint’s Masque exfoliates and seals in moisture to create a more youthful-looking glow. However, it is stronger than other skincare products by Seint and shouldn’t be used more than once or twice a week.
