Pregnancy is a unique and special time. But it also comes with a lot of questions, especially when it comes to knowing what is and isn’t safe for both the mother and the baby. Among these concerns is the topic of skincare. One skincare brand that has drawn a lot of attention for its natural and holistic approach is Oliveda Skincare by Olive Tree People.
As one of Oliveda’s Waterless Beauty Consultants, one of the questions I get asked most frequently is “Is Oliveda Skincare Pregnancy Safe?” This is an excellent question for expectant mothers and nursing mothers to be asking. And so let’s dive into what is and isn’t safe to use when you are expecting!
Medical Disclaimer – Understanding Pregnancy Safe Skincare
First and foremost, it is important for me to make it perfectly clear that I am not a doctor, and I am not authorized to give any kind of medical advice. It is also important to understand that Oliveda does not make medical claims themselves. When it comes to the safety of your yourself and your baby, it is vital for you to always speak with your doctor before using any new products.
It is also crucial to be aware of certain ingredients that should be avoided altogether when you are pregnant. Some of the most common skincare ingredients that are generally advised against during pregnancy include:
- Retinoids: Found in anti-aging products, retinoids can cause birth defects.
- Salicylic Acid: High doses, particularly in oral form, are linked to pregnancy complications.
- Hydroquinone: A skin-lightening agent that can be absorbed in significant amounts.
- Phthalates: Often found in fragrances and can potentially impact fetal development.
- Parabens: Used as preservatives and may disrupt hormone function.
All that being said, Oliveda skincare is a skincare line that is often chosen by expectant and nursing mother’s because it is seen as safe to use during pregnancy and while nursing. In fact, Oliveda has even been endorsed by celebrities, like model Gigi Hadid, who chose to use Oliveda during her pregnancy after searching for a safe skincare line to use.

Oliveda Skincare Ingredients
Oliveda’s skincare products are centered around the therapeutic properties of olive trees. Olive Tree People utilizes the olive leaf cell elixir to create their Oliveda Skincare products. Oliveda focuses on, and takes pride in their use of natural ingredients and the benefits that are derived from the ancient traditions of olive tree therapy.
Some of the key ingredients often found in Oliveda products, and that are generally considered to be pregnancy safe include:
- Olive Leaf Extract: Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
- Olive Oil: Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, which are beneficial for skin hydration and repair.
- Hydroxytyrosol: A potent antioxidant found in olive leaves.
Evaluating Specific Oliveda Products
While Oliveda emphasizes natural and safe ingredients, it’s still essential to evaluate products for any ingredients that might be of concern during pregnancy. Here are a few tips on how to assess the safety of Oliveda products:
- Read the Ingredients List: Always check the full list of ingredients. If you see any of the potentially harmful ingredients, such as the ones mentioned earlier, it’s best to avoid that product.
- Consult with a Healthcare Provider: If you’re unsure about a product, it’s wise to consult with your obstetrician or dermatologist. They can provide personalized advice based on your health history and needs.
- Patch Test: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make your skin more sensitive. Perform a patch test to ensure you do not have an adverse reaction to a new product.
Specific Oliveda Skincare Products to Avoid During Pregnancy
Oliveda has a long list of products, most of which are considered to be safe during pregnancy. However, there are a few Oliveda products I would personally recommend avoiding during pregnancy:
- F65 Midnight Elixir and LA Dope 004: Both of these products contain retinol. It is advised to steer clear of retinol during pregnancy, so I would avoid these two products specifically.
- Retinol Alternatives: Oliveda has 2 retinol alternatives — the F82 Green Retinol and the F87 Kahai Elixir. Neither of these products contains actual retinol, and thus they are less potent than actual retinol products. So using the 2 products is a personal choice that should be made between you and your provider.
- Oliveda Products with Acids: During pregnancy, I would personally avoid any of the Oliveda products containing acids as part of the ingredients. This includes the F81 AHA, the F84 Blemish Control Mask, and the F85 Acne SOS Drops.
- I01 Camu Camu Beauty Elixir: Because of the high concentration of Vitamin C in this Oliveda Beauty drink, it is best to avoid during pregnancy, particularly during the early stages.

Why Oliveda Skincare is Considered to be Pregnancy Safe
Oliveda skincare products are based on natural and holistic ingredients. And because of their focus on olive-based ingredients, Oliveda is often considered a safe choice to use during pregnancy. However, it’s crucial to remain vigilant and informed about the specific ingredients in any skincare product you use. Always consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns. And be sure to prioritize products that promote the well-being of both you and your baby.
By being informed and cautious, you can enjoy the benefits of a good skincare routine while ensuring the safety and health of your pregnancy.
